TAMIYA MINI

The Tamiya Mini class is advertised as a beginner friendly class due to the slower speed. The kits are generally affordable to purchase, but take some time to setup properly to become easier to drive. There are a few chassis flavors which include the M-05 (front wheel drive), M-06 (rear wheel drive), and as of 2017 the M-07 (front wheel drive).

Class Rules:

Chassis: Any Tamiya M Chassis car – Assembled as per instruction manual. (IE: No FWD to RWD M-03 conversions) Unnecessary parts may be left off during assembly (IE: roll bars on M-05, electronics trays) but no part may be sawed, cut, or milled from chassis.

Drivetrain: Open Diff and Drivetrain, maintaining the kit FDR. 16, 18 and 20 tooth pinions in M-03/M-05/M-06. 17, 19 & 21 tooth pinions in M-04.

Hop Ups: All other Tamiya or aftermarket hop ups are permitted.

Motor/ESC: Spec Orca Q or Sky RC motors only, set to zero “factory” timing, or sealed Johnson/Mabuchi 27T silver can kit type motor with open brushed ESC. No modifications to motors or ESCs permitted. Silver cans will not be permitted to advance beyond the C main.

Electroic Speed Control (ESC): No ESC timing or boost. ESC must be original ORCA Q combo ESC or on ROAR or BRCA approved list.

Wheels/Tires: Tamiya branded mini sized tires and inserts only. Double stuffing not permitted. Any mini sized wheel.

Bodies: Open to any mini sized body with the following restrictions – No touring sedan and/or 12th scale type wedge/Can Am bodies. Bodies must be cut and painted along the factory body lines.

Battery: Any 2S, 7.4V, round edged, hard cased lipo pack that will fit the mini (IE: M-03) chassis (without modification to pack or chassis). Square packs, “shorty” packs included, are allowed in the M-05 Ver. II & M-06. Capacity limit of 5000mAh.

TAMIYA EURO TRUCK

The Tamiya Euro Truck class is advertised as a beginner friendly class due to the slower speed. The kits are generally affordable to purchase, but take some time to setup properly to become easier to drive.

Class Rules:

Legal Kits: Item 58632 RC Team Hahn Racing MAN TGS (TT-01 type E chassis)
Item 58642 RC Team Reinert Racing MAN TGS (TT-01 type E chassis).
The kit must be built EXACTLY per the instruction manual.
All screws in the kit must be used. I.E. You may not omit screws to change the handling of the truck.
Adding FOAM material to the kit foam bumper is permitted.

Drivetrain: Must use stock pinion and spur gear.
Any grease or lube may be used to lubricate gears or moving parts.

Hop Ups: The ONLY Hop-Op Option permitted is Ball Bearings.
(ANY BRAND of bearing)

Motor/ESC: The kit Tamiya TBLE-02S ESC and kit supplied motor (item 54358 RS-540
Torque-Tuned Motor) must be used. Battery connector may be changed to DEANS type.
Motor Bullet connectors may not be removed.
NOTE: ESC & Motor wires may not be shortened!

Electronic Speed Control (ESC): No ESC timing or boost.

Wheels/Tires: Must use kit tires and wheels. Kit tires may be glued onto wheel.

Bodies: All body parts must be used.

Battery: Any stick-pack style, hard round case type LiPO, NiCD, Ni-MH 
is permitted. Examples: Reedy Wolf-Pack or Peak Racing Powermax 
batteries are good for this class.

Weight: 1450 grams. Adding heavy ballast for low CG is prohibited.

USGT / SCALE SPEC

A good class to start as a beginner. Faster than Tamiya Mini, but slower than the Stock 17.5 Touring Car . A lot slower than Modified Touring Car.

USGT Class Rules:

Chassis: Any on-road FWD or 4WD 1/10th scale TC Chassis.

Motor: 21.5 Brushless motor ROAR or BRCA Approved. Open gearing.

Electroic Speed Control (ESC): No ESC timing or boost.

Battery: 2S Li-Poly battery packs must have a hard, protective case.

Tires/Wheels: Gravity USGT/Ride 24025 with included inserts. Any 24 or 26mm spoked (non-dish) type wheel.

Weight: 4WD: 1450g Minimum / FWD: 1250g Minimum

Ride Height: 5mm minimum.

Bodies: Any 190mm or 200mm body. Body can be any body that is NOT on the ROAR T2 or WGT body list.
No bodies intended for pan cars or USVTA are allowed.

STOCK 1/12 SCALE 13.5

2 wheel drive, foam tire, the lightest class, high traction.

Class Rules:

Motor: 13.5 Brushless motor ROAR or BRCA Approved

Electroic Speed Control (ESC): No ESC timing or boost.

Battery: 1S Li-Poly battery packs must have a hard protective case.

Tires: Open tire

Weight: 730g Minimum

Ride Height: 3mm Minimum

Bodies: Can-Am/Lola style bodies

FORMULA 1

2 wheel drive, rubber tire, very challenging class.

Class Rules:

Motor: 21.5t ROAR or BRCA approved Stock Spec

Electroic Speed Control (ESC): No ESC timing or boost.

Battery: 2S Li-Poly battery packs must have a hard protective case.

Tires: Open Rubber F1 scale. 200mm cars must run narrow modern tires eg. F104 tires.

Weight: 1050g Minimum

Ride Height: 4mm Minimum

Bodies: F1 scale. Molded front/rear wings. No lexan wings

Width: 190mm Maximum

Drivetrain: 2-wheel rear drive cars only

Wheelbase: 270mm Maximum

Suspension: All suspensions allowed, including IFS suspensions. All front suspension mounting points must be located entirely within the body shell (no pan-car front suspension systems). Adjustable link front ends are OK as long as the inner mount point is located within the body.

STOCK TOURING CAR 17.5

The most popular class at our club. Very challenging for beginners to jump right into this class first. Faster than Tamiya Mini, CTA, USGT. Slower than Modified Touring Car.

Class Rules:

Chassis: Any on-road FWD or 4WD 1/10th scale TC Chassis

Motor: 17.5t Brushless motor ROAR or BRCA approved

Electroic Speed Control (ESC): No ESC timing or boost.

Battery: 2S Li-Poly battery packs must have a hard protective case.

Tires/Wheels: Open tire, we recommend the Sweep Racing QTS32 True Black part#SQT-32BK for the new CRC black carpet.

Weight: 1350g Minimum.

Ride Height: 5mm minimum.

Bodies: Top of wing on touring cars must be equal or below the roofline in race ready position. Bodies must also be able to pass testing using a template gauge. The template will be available prior to the first qualifier at all races to ensure that competitors can meet the standards.

MODIFIED TOURING CAR

The fastest class. You’ll need high driving skills and a lot of spare parts to be successful in this class. You’ve been warned.

Class Rules:

Chassis: Any on-road 4WD 1/10th scale TC Chassis

Motor: Any 540 Size Motor.

Electroic Speed Control (ESC): ESC timing and boost allowed.

Battery: 2S Li-Poly battery packs must have a hard protective case.

Tires/Wheels: Open tire, we recommend the Sweep Racing QTS32 True Black part#SQT-32BK for the new CRC black carpet.

Weight: 1350g Minimum.

Ride Height: 5mm minimum.
